Oral Cancer Screening In Downtown Toronto
A dental visit is about more than teeth. Every exam includes a careful check of the soft tissues in your mouth — your tongue, cheeks, lips, and palate. Oral cancer can develop in these areas, often without pain or obvious symptoms at first. Screening gives us a chance to catch changes early, when treatment is most effective.
			What The Screening Involves
It’s simple and painless. Your dentist examines the inside of your mouth, looking for sores that don’t heal, patches of discoloration, or unusual changes in texture. We may gently feel along your jaw and neck for swelling or lumps. Most of the time, everything looks normal. If something stands out, we’ll explain what we see and recommend the next steps.
Why Early Detection Matters
Oral cancer is most treatable when found early. Because it can progress quietly, regular screening is one of the most important parts of your dental visit. Patients who use tobacco or alcohol, or who have a history of oral HPV, may be at higher risk, but screening is important for everyone.

			Peace Of Mind For Patients
Most people leave knowing their mouth is healthy and unchanged. For those rare times when something unusual appears, you’ll have answers sooner rather than later. That knowledge — and the ability to act quickly — makes screening worth it.
